There Exists

There Exists is an immersive VR experience that tells the story of Mary Randall, one of the earliest female British convicts transported to Australia in 1792. Rather than simply recreating historical events, the experience explores how forgotten lives can be rediscovered through modern technology by combining historical archives, machine learning, and immersive storytelling.

The project was created using research from the British Library Labs, which reconstructed Mary's life from handwritten historical records that had remained largely overlooked for centuries. Players experience the story as a series of fragmented memories, reflecting both the incomplete nature of historical archives and the way memories fade over time.

I created all 3D assets, from characters to environments and props then optimised them for use with the particle niagra effect.
